In addition to our outpatient services, CarePlus offers a variety of group services, such as support groups and group therapy. Our groups enhance the mental and physical well-being of children, teens, and parents who are struggling with social, behavioral, and mental health challenges. ALLIES LGBTQ SUPPORT GROUP offers weekly group sessions to support LGBTQ youth between the ages of 13-18. This program promotes identity self-acceptance, effective communication skills, and conflict resolution through the use of self-help strategies and activities. Register by paying the one-time intake fee and scheduling an intake appointment.
This is an ongoing, open group offered Wednesdays from 6:00pm – 7:00pm in Paramus but initial enrollment is required.
ANGER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM targets youth 12-18 years of age who demonstrate difficulty managing anger and other impulsive behaviors. For participating youth, the 10-week curriculum improves anger management skills, increases social skills, and improves personal relationships.

Food, Feelings, and Body Image
FOOD, FEELINGS, AND BODY IMAGE supports adolescent females age 13-17, who are displaying some of the traits associated with eating disorders. Such behaviors may be frequent vomiting, excessive exercise, negative body image, and anxiety. This group provides support as they navigate psychological, cultural, and physiological pressures. Group members are encouraged to find a healthy and positive balance as their minds and bodies grow, as well as provide appropriate intervention to help prevent progression to an eating disorder. Freedom from Anxiety
FREEDOM FROM ANXIETY is designed to increase youth’s ability to recognize signs of anxiety and strengthen their coping skills. Group members will learn skills to identify triggers along with strategies to manage the anxious thoughts that impact mood and impair functioning. The group setting also helps to promote healthy social relationships. This program is offered for various age groups throughout the year. Most insurance is accepted.

On the Mend
ON THE MEND is a therapeutic group for children that uses the evidence-based Children of Divorce Intervention Program (CODIP) model. Children are provided with support and taught age-appropriate coping skills and techniques to assist with the difficulties experienced by parental divorce and separation. SOCIAL SKILLS II: BEYOND THE BASICS is for children ages 10 to 13 who have successfully completed CPNJ's Social Skills I and could benefit from a more advanced group to enhance social and emotional learning. This group will help youth to manage the pressures of social situations through advanced skill-building. Youth will develop the skills needed to establish and strengthen peer relationships as well as improve effective communication with others. A recommended bi-weekly Parent Support Group runs simultaneously with the program.

Toolbox for Wellness
The CarePlus Toolbox For Wellness provides a safe place for girls and boys ages 13 through 17 who are experiencing symptoms of depression to practice the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model (CBT). This model helps identify how thoughts and actions can be self-defeating, and provides a path to learn how to replace poor coping skills with positive action. Insurance is accepted.
