Closure Response

  • The Bergen County Department of Health has provided all Bergen County Schools a directive to close effective 3pm, March 13, 2020.  It is difficult to determine the length of the closure at this time, but we are planning for a 2 to 4 week period.

Communication with parents will continue via Constant Contact, the District’s website, and the Swiftreach Reverse 911 system.  Direct contact will be made via phone and/or email.

Please see the Absence Hotline page for more information.

    Free and Reduced Lunch

Any family eligible for free or reduced lunch will be contacted by the School Business Administrator. Individual arrangements will be made as appropriate.

    Special Education and Related Services

Students receiving special education and related services will continue receiving their general instruction via their regular education/and or special education teacher. Further information regarding related services will be sent home by the Special Services Department.

Students who receive counseling will be contacted by their counselor via email or phone call.  Individual information will be received from the appropriate staff.

    For Parents:

Support your child in their learning process by:

    • Monitoring updates and checking in with your child daily about the remote/virtual school learning tasks, activities, and assessments that they are working on.
    • Encouraging adherence and attendance in the virtual school day offered by your child’s teachers.
    • Designating a place where your child will work independently/or with your aid on his/her assigned tasks.
    • Asking your child to provide a brief summary of the learning he/she is engaging in for each class to ensure their understanding of the content and of the process they are being asked to engage in to demonstrate their learning.
    • Asking your child about their deadline calendar and supporting them, as needed, in submitting assignments in accordance with the established deadlines.
    • Reminding your child to email his/her teachers if they have any questions.

    For Students

Treat each day as if you are in school by:

    • Dedicating appropriate time to learning as guided by your teachers.
    • Checking appropriate Google Classrooms and school emails for information on courses, assignments, and resources, on a daily basis.
    • Attending and participating in the remote/virtual school day offered by your teachers.
    • Identifying a comfortable and quiet space to study/learn.
    • Submitting all assignments in accordance with provided timelines and/or due dates.
